Solucionario de wish y would rather (2.º Bachillerato)

Ejercicio 1. Es hora de…

Tras it’s time el verbo va en pasado simple con sentido de presente: 1 bought · 2 called · 3 arrived · 4 stopped · 5 repaired.

Ejercicio 2. Would rather con un solo sujeto

Con el mismo sujeto se usa el infinitivo sin to: 1 stay · 2 have · 3 walk · 4 not go · 5 sleep.

Ejercicio 3. Would rather con otro sujeto

Ejercicio 4. Del español al inglés: las bases

Modelo: 1 It’s time we left. · 2 I’d rather stay at home. · 3 I’d rather you didn’t say anything. · 4 It’s high time you studied.

Ejercicio 5. ¿Real o irreal? As if y as though

Real = presente; irreal = pasado: 1 knew · 2 is going to · 3 were · 4 grew · 5 are.

Ejercicio 6. Wish y if only con el presente

Wish + pasado simple (con be, were en registro formal): 1 had · 2 were · 3 lived · 4 could · 5 knew.

Ejercicio 7. Une las mitades

1-b · 2-c · 3-a · 4-d · 5-e.

Ejercicio 9. Quejas con wish + would

Modelo: 1 I wish the bus would arrive on time. · 2 I wish my brother would knock. · 3 I wish it would stop raining. · 4 I wish Lucía wouldn’t leave her bike in the hall.

Ejercicio 10.

Ejercicio 12. Corrige el error

1 It’s time we went. · 2 I’d rather stay at home. · 3 I wish I had more time. · 4 I’d rather you didn’t smoke. · 5 I wish I had known it yesterday.

Ejercicio 15.

3 No: suppose + were indica una hipótesis. 1 Galway, not there now · 2 I’d rather you didn’t remind me · 3 No, it is hypothetical

Ejercicio 16. Texto con huecos

1 chose · 2 wait · 3 had already decided · 4 wouldn’t push · 5 could · 6 got. Con high time y suppose se usa pasado; as if lleva pasado perfecto porque habla de algo que no ha ocurrido antes.

Ejercicio 17. Corrige el texto

1 stayed · 2 left · 3 hadn’t bought · 4 won · 5 go · 6 would stop.

Ejercicio 18. Mediación: explica el mensaje

Modelo: My sister says it’s high time I tidied my room. She’d rather I did it today, not on Sunday. She wishes I would help more at home. Comprueba: it’s high time + pasado, would rather + pasado, wish + would, y la tercera persona (she wishes).
