Respuesta rápida: Para describir una vivienda en inglés usas there is con una sola cosa y there are con varias: There is a sofa, There are two windows. Las preposiciones de lugar (in, on, under, next to, between) indican dónde está cada mueble.

850 sq ft.Utilities not included. No pets.
  • furnished: amueblado; utilities: luz, agua y gas.

Con Is there…? y Are there any…? cubres casi todo.

Error típico

Los hispanohablantes omiten there: Is a table in the kitchen es incorrecto; di There is a table in the kitchen. Tampoco se dice There are a sofa: el verbo concuerda con lo que viene después.

Nota cultural

Lo esencial de there is y there are

  • There is + singular; there are + plural.
  • Negativa y pregunta con plural llevan any: Are there any shelves?
  • There is/are nunca se omite: no se dice Is a table in the kitchen.
