Correction de l’exercice 1 : classez les expressions

Correction de l’exercice 2 : le verbe en -ing
  1. I’m keen on swimming. (on double le m)
  2. She can’t stand getting up early. (on double le t)
  3. We are fond of baking cakes. (le e final disparaît)
  4. He doesn’t mind waiting for the bus.
  5. I love dancing at parties.
  6. They hate doing the washing-up.
  7. Are you keen on playing chess?
  8. My dad is fond of watching old films.
Correction de l’exercice 3 : on, of ou rien ?
  1. I’m keen on drawing.
  2. Lucy is fond of animals.
  3. I can’t stand Ø horror films. (pas de préposition après stand)
  4. Are you keen on video games?
  5. My grandma is very fond of her garden.
  6. He doesn’t mind Ø cold weather.
Correction de l’exercice 4 : but, whereas ou however ?
  1. I like maths, but I don’t like history.
  2. My brother loves rap, whereas I prefer pop music. (but est aussi possible)
  3. The film was very long. However, it was really exciting.
  4. Tom is keen on sport, whereas his sister prefers reading. (ou but)
  5. I wanted to go to the park. However, it was raining.
  6. Cats are quiet animals, whereas dogs are often noisy. (ou but)
Correction de l’exercice 5 : passez à la forme négative
  1. I don’t think football is boring.
  2. I don’t think she is right.
  3. I don’t believe this book is interesting.
  4. I don’t think they like pizza.
  5. I don’t think the test was easy.
  6. I don’t think it will rain tomorrow.

C’est le verbe d’opinion qui porte la négation, pas le verbe qui suit.

Correction de l’exercice 6 : remettez les mots dans l’ordre
  1. In my opinion, art is important.
  2. I think this song is great.
  3. She is fond of cooking.
  4. I can’t stand the noise.
  5. I agree with you.
  6. I’m not keen on jazz.
Correction de l’exercice 7 : traduisez en anglais
  1. In my opinion, this film is great. (ou I think this film is great.)
  2. I can’t stand doing my homework on Sundays.
  3. My sister loves reading.
  4. I agree with you.
  5. I don’t think it’s a good idea.
  6. He is keen on skateboarding. (ou He is crazy about skateboarding.)
  7. I like chocolate, whereas my brother hates it.
  8. I don’t mind waiting.
Correction de l’exercice 8 : corrigez l’erreur
  1. I agree with you. (agree est un verbe, sans am)
  2. I’m keen on tennis.
  3. She can’t stand rap music. (pas de -s après can’t)
  4. I don’t mind helping you.
  5. In my opinion, this game is boring. (ou I think this game is boring.)
  6. Is it true? – I don’t think so.
  7. He is fond of animals.
  8. I love swimming in the sea.
Correction de l’exercice 9 : devant l’affiche du film
  1. He wants to see Space Rangers.
  2. She prefers comedies.
  3. He thinks they are amazing.
  4. She can’t stand long fight scenes.
  5. The story is about friendship.
  6. Yes, she does: « I don’t mind giving it a try. »
  7. but et However.
Correction de l’exercice 10 : le sondage de la classe
  1. Lisa loves video games, whereas Omar can’t stand them.
  2. Lisa doesn’t mind reading, whereas Omar is keen on it.
  3. Lisa is fond of cooking, whereas Omar hates it.
  4. Lisa hates football, whereas Omar loves it.
  5. Lisa likes drawing, whereas Omar doesn’t like it.

On peut aussi garder le nom : whereas Omar can’t stand video games. Le pronom it ou them évite une répétition.

Correction de l’exercice 11 : donnez votre avis

Réponses libres. Exemple de réponse modèle :

  1. In my opinion, school uniforms are a good idea. However, I’m not keen on wearing a tie.
  2. I can’t stand homework at the weekend, but I think it is sometimes useful.
  3. I’m crazy about this series. I think the actors are brilliant.
  4. I love playing video games, whereas my parents think it’s a waste of time.
  5. I don’t mind eating carrots, but I hate broccoli.

Comment progresser après ce corrigé goûts et opinions

Si vous avez oublié des -ing ou des prépositions, fabriquez une petite carte avec trois lignes : keen on + -ing, fond of + -ing, can’t stand + -ing, et relisez-la chaque jour pendant une semaine. Pour gagner en aisance, donnez votre avis à voix haute sur ce que vous voyez : un plat à la cantine, une série, un cours. Essayez à chaque fois d’ajouter une opposition avec but ou whereas : vos phrases deviendront plus riches et plus naturelles.
