Contrôle biographie en 4ème

Exercice 1 : Vocabulaire de la vie (4 points)

Compléter chaque phrase avec un verbe de la liste : was born, grew up, became, moved, died, studied.

  1. Mozart ____ in Salzburg in 1756.
  2. She ____ in a small town near Dublin.
  3. He ____ a famous scientist.
  4. The family ____ to London in 1990.
  5. He ____ at the age of 80.
  6. She ____ medicine at university.
Exercice 2 : Dates et marqueurs (3 points)

Compléter chaque phrase avec in, on, at, ago ou when.

  1. She was born ____ 1990.
  2. He started school ____ the age of six.
  3. He was born ____ 5 May.
  4. Ten years ____ , they moved.
  5. She became famous ____ she was twenty.
Exercice 3 : Lire une biographie (4 points)

Lire la biographie, puis répondre en anglais par une phrase complète.

Ada Lovelace was born in 1815 in England. She grew up in the countryside and studied mathematics at home. In 1833, she met the inventor Charles Babbage, who was building a machine called the Analytical Engine. Ada wrote notes about the machine and became the first computer programmer. She died in 1852 at the age of 36.

Exercice 4 : Relier avec who ou which (3 points)

Réunir chaque paire de phrases avec who ou which.

  1. Marie Curie was a scientist. She won two Nobel prizes.
  2. He wrote a book. It became famous.
  3. She met a man. He helped her.
  4. They visited a house. It belongs to the artist.
Exercice 5 : Traduire (3 points)

Traduire en anglais.

  1. Il est né en 1980 à Cork.
  2. Elle a grandi en Écosse.
  3. Il est devenu médecin.
  4. Elle est morte en 2010.
Exercice 6 : Écrire une mini-biographie (3 points)

Écrire une mini-biographie de trois phrases d’une personne de son choix (naissance, enfance, réussite).
