Exercice 1 : Mise au passif (4 points)

Réécrire chaque phrase au passif.

1. People say that the old bridge is dangerous.

2. The company gave all employees a bonus.

3. Scientists believe that the volcano will erupt soon.

4. Someone has stolen my bicycle.

5. They are building a new library in our town.

6. Nobody told her about the change.

7. The police reported that the thief had escaped.

8. People expect the minister to resign.

Exercice 2 : Choix de la forme (3 points)

Compléter chaque phrase avec la forme passive qui convient, à partir du verbe entre parenthèses.

1. The manuscript ______ (discover) in 1947.

2. He ______ (say) to be the richest man in Europe.

3. By next year, the road ______ (repair).

4. The children ______ (give) sweets at the end of the party.

5. She ______ (get / hurt) while skiing last winter.

6. The match ______ (cancel) because of the snow when we arrived.

Exercice 3 : Compréhension d’un document (4 points)

Thousands of tourists are believed to visit the old harbour every summer. The lighthouse, which was built in 1823, is said to be haunted. Last year, it was awarded a prize for its restoration, and visitors are now allowed to climb to the top. A new guide book is being written and will be published in May.

Répondre en anglais, par une phrase complète, à chaque question.

Exercice 4 : Erreurs à corriger (3 points)

Corriger l’erreur dans chaque phrase en réécrivant la phrase entière.

2. It is said that she to be a genius.

3. I was given a book by my aunt for Christmas, which I was told to read.

4. The house is been painted at the moment.

5. He is reported having left the country.

6. She was gotten promoted last month.

Exercice 5 : Traduction et expression (6 points)

Traduire en anglais les trois phrases (3 points), puis rédiger quatre phrases au passif pour présenter un monument célèbre (3 points).

1. On dit que ce château est hanté.

2. On lui a offert un voyage à Rome.

3. Le pont a été détruit pendant la guerre.
