Exercice 1 : Regretter le présentTransformez chaque phrase en souhait avec I wish + prétérit (ou could).
- I don’t speak Spanish.
- My flat is so small.
- I can’t vote yet.
- My parents don’t understand me.
- It’s raining again.
- We have to leave now.
Exprimez un regret avec wish + past perfect. Gardez le sujet de la phrase.
- I didn’t go to the concert.
- She told him the secret.
- We missed the train.
- I didn’t listen to my teacher.
- They sold their house.
- He couldn’t come to the party.
Choisissez la forme correcte.
- I wish I (know / knew / had known) the answer now.
- I wish you (would stop / stopped / had stopped) tapping your pen! It’s driving me crazy.
- She wishes she (took / had taken / would take) that job offer last year.
- I wish I (am / were / would be) taller.
- We wish it (would stop / stops / had stopped) raining: we want to go out.
- He wishes he (has / had / would have) more free time these days.
- My grandmother wishes she (stayed / had stayed / would stay) in Jamaica in 1950.
Réécrivez chaque phrase sous la forme d’une exclamation avec If only.
- I’m not old enough to drive.
- I didn’t bring an umbrella.
- The bus never comes on time. (agacement)
- We can’t see the stage.
- He lost his passport.
Mettez le verbe entre parenthèses à la forme qui convient.
- I’d rather you (not tell) ___ anyone.
- I’d rather (stay) ___ at home tonight.
- She’d rather her son (study) ___ law.
- Would you rather (walk) ___ or take the bus?
- We’d rather they (come) ___ tomorrow.
- It’s high time you (start) ___ revising.
Complétez avec la forme correcte de wish ou de hope.
