In July 1969, the American spaceship Apollo 11 landed on the Moon. There were three astronauts: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Armstrong was the first man to walk on the Moon. He said: «That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.» The astronauts collected moon rocks and returned safely to Earth. The mission was organised by NASA, the American space agency.
