Exemple d’essai modèle (200 mots environ) :

Have you ever thought about earning your own money at sixteen? In many English-speaking countries, it is common for teenagers to work in a café or a shop after school. But should students really have a part-time job while they are at school?

First of all, a part-time job teaches responsibility. Young workers learn to be on time, to deal with customers and to manage their money. For instance, my neighbour works in a bakery on Saturdays, and he is saving up for his driving lessons. Moreover, this experience looks good on a CV.

However, working too much can be harmful. Students who work several evenings a week often feel exhausted, and as a result, their marks may fall. Although money is useful, school must remain the priority at this age.

To conclude, I tend to think that a part-time job is a positive experience, as long as it is limited to a few hours at the weekend. Perhaps schools and employers should work together to help students find the right balance.
