Ces exercices prépositions anglais t’entraînent à dire où se trouvent les objets, à utiliser there is et there are, puis à décrire une chambre. Observe bien le dessin de l’exercice 2 : il servira aussi pour l’exercice 11.

Exercices prépositions anglais : où est-ce ?

Exercice 1 : associe anglais et français

Associe chaque préposition à sa traduction : a. derrière, b. entre, c. sur, d. au-dessus de, e. dans, f. devant, g. sous, h. à côté de.

Exercice 2 : la chambre de Leo

Observe le dessin et complète chaque phrase avec la bonne préposition.

  3. The lamp is ___ the desk.
  4. The chair is ___ the desk.

Exercice 3 : choisis la bonne préposition
  1. The fish are (in / on) the aquarium.
  2. The picture is (on / in) the wall.
  3. The cat is (on / under) the bed: I can’t see it!
  4. The bank is (between / next to) the bakery and the café.
  5. The stars are (above / under) the houses.
  6. The teacher is (in front of / behind) the class: everybody can see her.
  7. The thief is (behind / in front of) the tree: nobody can see him.

There is et there are

Exercice 4 : there is ou there are ?
  1. ___ a bed in my room.
  2. ___ two windows.
  3. ___ a lamp on my desk.
  4. ___ posters on the wall.
  5. ___ a cat under the bed.
  6. ___ three books on the shelf.
  7. ___ an old chair next to the door.
  8. ___ some clothes on the floor.
Exercice 5 : négation ou question

Transforme chaque phrase à la forme indiquée : (N) négative, (Q) interrogative.

  1. There is a computer on the desk. (N)
  2. There are posters on the wall. (Q)
  3. There is a mirror in the bathroom. (Q)
  4. There are two beds in the room. (N)
  5. There is a rug on the floor. (Q)
  6. There are some toys under the bed. (N)

Remettre en ordre, corriger, traduire

Exercice 6 : remets les mots dans l’ordre

Exercice 7 : corrige l’erreur

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Recopie-la correctement.

  1. There are a cat in the garden.

  3. The car is in front the house.
  4. The ball is between the chair the table.
  5. There is two beds in my room.
  6. Is there books on your desk?
  7. My bag is next the desk.
Exercice 8 : traduis en anglais
  1. Le chat est sous le lit.
  2. Il y a une lampe sur mon bureau.
  3. Il y a deux fenêtres dans ma chambre.
  4. Mon sac est derrière la porte.
  5. La chaise est devant le bureau.
  6. Est-ce qu’il y a un tapis ?
Exercice 9 : traduis en français
  1. There is a poster above my bed.
  2. My shoes are next to the wardrobe.
  3. There aren’t any toys on the floor.
  4. The plant is between the window and the desk.
  5. Where is my phone? – It’s under your pillow!

Comprendre et écrire

Exercice 10 : la chambre de Mia

Lis le texte puis réponds en anglais.

My bedroom is small but I love it! There is a big window and there are blue curtains. My bed is next to the window. Above my bed, there is a poster of a horse. My desk is behind the door, and my computer is on it. There are three shelves on the wall. My books are on the shelves and my guitar is between the desk and the wardrobe. My cat, Pepper, loves my room. Where is she now? She is under my bed!

  1. Is Mia’s bedroom big?
  2. Where is her bed?
  3. What is above her bed?
  4. Where is her desk?
  5. How many shelves are there?
  6. Where is the guitar?
  7. Where is Pepper now?
Exercice 11 : vrai ou faux ?

Regarde à nouveau la chambre de Leo (exercice 2). Écris True ou False et corrige les phrases fausses.

  1. There is a cat under the bed.
  2. The ball is under the shelf.
  3. There are two lamps in the room.
  4. The chair is behind the desk.
  5. There are books in the box.
  6. The trainers are on the bed.
Exercice 12 : décris ta chambre

Écris cinq phrases pour décrire ta chambre, réelle ou imaginaire.

  1. Une phrase avec There is.
  2. Une phrase avec There are.
  3. Une phrase avec under ou above.
  4. Une phrase avec between.
  5. Une phrase avec next to ou behind.
