Les exercices causatifs

Repérez à chaque fois si la personne qui agit est nommée ou non.

Exercice 1 : Have something done

Réécrivez les phrases avec have + objet + participe passé, au même temps.

  1. A hairdresser cut her hair yesterday.
  2. A mechanic checks our car every year.
  3. A photographer is taking our wedding photos.
  4. A builder has painted their house.
  5. An optician will test my eyes tomorrow.
  6. A tailor shortened his trousers last week.
Exercice 2 : Mésaventures

Décrivez la mésaventure avec had + objet + participe passé.

  1. Someone stole Paul’s wallet at the station.
  2. Someone broke the windows of our car.
  3. Someone hacked Mia’s account.
  4. The airline lost my luggage.
  5. Someone damaged their bikes during the night.
Exercice 3 : Choisir le verbe causatif

Complétez avec make, let, have ou get à la bonne forme.

  1. My parents don’t ___ me stay out after midnight.
  2. The coach ___ us run ten laps because we were late.
  3. I’ll ___ my secretary send you the contract.
  4. She finally ___ her brother to clean the bathroom.
  5. Sad songs always ___ me feel nostalgic.
  6. Please ___ me know if you need anything.
Exercice 4 : To ou pas to ?

Complétez avec to ou laissez vide (∅).

  1. He made me ___ apologise.
  2. I got my friend ___ lend me his notes.
  3. They let us ___ use the gym.
  4. We were made ___ wear a uniform.
  5. She had the waiter ___ bring another glass.
  6. The prisoners were allowed ___ call their families.
Exercice 5 : Mettre au passif

Mettez au passif en commençant par le mot placé entre crochets.

  1. The officer made [the driver] get out of the car.
  2. The school made [the students] redo the test.
  3. The guards let [the visitors] take photos. (allowed)
  4. Her boss made [her] work on Sunday.
  5. They didn’t let [us] enter the museum. (allowed)
Exercice 6 : Remettre dans l’ordre

Remettez les mots dans l’ordre.

  1. had / she / dress / her / cleaned / .
  2. got / to / I / him / the truth / tell / .
  3. let / me / my mother / her car / drive / didn’t / .
  4. are / having / built / they / a swimming pool / .
  5. made / laugh / us / the comedian / all / .
  6. you / where / your / did / have / done / nails / ?
Exercice 7 : Corriger les erreurs

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Réécrivez-la correctement.

  1. I cut my hair at the hairdresser’s yesterday.
  2. The film made me to cry.
  3. She got her sister help her with the move.
  4. We had repaired the roof by a local company.
  5. My parents let me to go to the party.
  6. We were let leave early.
Exercice 8 : Traduction FR → EN

Traduisez en anglais.

  1. Je me suis fait couper les cheveux samedi.
  2. Il s’est fait voler son vélo.
  3. Elle m’a fait rire.
  4. Mes parents ne me laissent pas sortir le soir.
  5. J’ai réussi à convaincre mon frère de m’aider.
  6. On nous a fait attendre pendant deux heures.
  7. Nous allons faire repeindre la cuisine.
Exercice 9 : Traduction EN → FR

Traduisez en français.

  1. I need to get my passport renewed.
  2. The teacher had us read the whole novel.
  3. Don’t let anyone tell you what to think.
  4. The noise made it impossible to sleep.
  5. She was made to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Exercice 10 : La liste de Mrs Patel

Observez le tableau, puis écrivez une phrase par ligne avec la structure causative qui convient.

Répondez par une phrase complète en employant une structure causative.

  5. What were you made to do at primary school that you hated?
