Welcome to Room 4! This is a busy market scene. If you look at the left corner, you’ll notice a little boy who is taking an apple from a basket. If you look up, you’ll see three birds on the roof. If you count the baskets, you’ll find twelve! Maybe the man with the red hat is the painter himself: he is looking straight at us. Perhaps the woman in blue is the boy’s mother, because she looks very angry. If you come back tomorrow evening, you’ll see the painting under a special light.

  1. What will you notice if you look at the left corner?
  2. What will you see if you look up?
  3. How many baskets will you find if you count them?
  4. Who is maybe the man with the red hat?
  5. Why is the woman in blue perhaps the boy’s mother?
  6. What will happen if you come back tomorrow evening?
  7. Find the two words that express a possibility.
