Exercice 1 : Qui fait quoi ?

Trouve le métier correspondant à chaque définition.

  1. This person looks after sick animals.
  2. This person repairs cars.
  3. This person puts out fires and rescues people.
  4. This person cuts and styles hair.
  5. This person defends people in court.
  6. This person writes articles for a newspaper.
  7. This person fixes pipes and toilets.
  8. This person takes your money at the supermarket checkout.
Exercice 2 : A, an ou rien ?

Complète avec a, an ou ø (rien).

  1. My aunt is ___ engineer.
  2. I’d like to be ___ nurse.
  3. He has a lot of ___ work this week.
  4. She found ___ job in a bookshop.
  5. My cousin wants to work as ___ electrician.
  6. Dad is at ___ work until six.
Exercice 3 : Associe le mot et sa définition

Associe chaque mot (1 à 8) à sa définition (a à h).

Exercice 4 : Complète le texte

Complète avec : applied, interview, résumé, hired, offer, experience, part-time.

  4. She sent her ___ and a cover letter.
  5. A week later, she had a job ___.

Exercice 5 : Employed ou unemployed ?

Complète avec employed, unemployed, unemployment, employer, employee ou self-employed.

  1. My neighbour lost his job: he has been ___ for three months.
  2. The ___ rate is lower than last year.
  3. The company is a big ___ in our town: 2,000 people work there.
  4. Every ___ gets a free lunch.
  5. She works for herself: she is ___.
  6. Most of my friends’ parents are ___ full-time.
Exercice 6 : Remets l’entretien dans l’ordre

Remets les répliques dans l’ordre logique (de 1 à 7).

  3. c. « Because I love children and I’m patient. »
  4. d. « Good morning. Thank you for seeing me. »

Exercice 7 : Pose la question

Écris la question du recruteur qui correspond à chaque réponse.

  1. My name is Ethan Brooks.
  2. I’m sixteen.
  3. I can work on Saturdays and Sundays.
  4. Yes, I worked in a café last summer.
  5. My main strength is that I’m very reliable.
  6. I can start next Monday.
Exercice 8 : Faux amis

Choisis le bon mot.

  1. I did a one-week (stage / work experience) in a garage.
  2. She wants to (postulate / apply) for a job at the zoo.
  3. The company offers (formation / training) to new staff.
  4. He found a (work / job) at the cinema.
  5. The actor walked onto the (stage / internship).
  6. My brother’s (salary / tip) is paid every month.
Exercice 9 : Traduction français → anglais

Traduis en anglais.

  1. Ma sœur est avocate.
  2. Il a perdu son emploi l’an dernier.
  3. J’ai postulé pour un job d’été.
  4. Elle travaille à temps partiel dans un supermarché.
  5. Le patron l’a embauché tout de suite.
  6. Mon grand-père a pris sa retraite à 62 ans.
  7. J’ai beaucoup de travail ce soir.
  8. J’ai fait mon stage dans une école primaire.
Exercice 10 : Lis l’offre d’emploi

SUMMER JOB – LIFEGUARD WANTED

Sunny Hills Swimming Pool, Ohio, is hiring lifeguards for July and August. You must be at least 16, a strong swimmer and have a lifeguard certificate. Hours: 20 to 30 hours a week, including weekends. Pay: $12 an hour. No experience needed: we offer free training in June. To apply, send your résumé and a short cover letter before May 15. Interviews will take place at the end of May.

Réponds en anglais.

Exercice 11 : Les teen jobs

Vrai ou faux ? Justifie avec une phrase du cours ou corrige l’affirmation fausse.

  1. In the USA, teenagers can usually start working at 14.
  2. Babysitting and mowing lawns are typical jobs for younger teens.
  3. A lifeguard works in a fast-food restaurant.
  4. Tips are extra money given by customers.
  5. A summer job is a job you do all year round.
  6. A paper round is a job in a library.
Exercice 12 : Production guidée

Tu postules au job de maître-nageur de l’exercice 10. Rédige 6 phrases que tu pourrais dire en entretien.

  1. Présente-toi (nom, âge).
  2. Explique pourquoi tu veux ce job.
  3. Parle d’une expérience (stage, baby-sitting, club…).
  4. Donne deux qualités (reliable, patient, hard-working…).
  5. Dis quand tu es disponible.
  6. Pose une question au recruteur.
