Exercices compréhension orale : le script du podcast

Ce script sert aux exercices 7, 8, 9 et 12. Lis-le seulement quand la consigne le demande.

Green Minds – episode 12: Fixing Instead of Throwing Away

Josh: Welcome back to Green Minds, the podcast where young people talk about the planet. I’m Josh, and today I’m talking to Kiara, a seventeen-year-old student from Melbourne. Kiara, what exactly is a repair café?

Kiara: Well, basically, it’s a place where people bring broken things, like toasters, bikes or phones, and volunteers help them fix them instead of throwing them away.

Josh: And how did it all start?

Kiara: Two years ago, my headphones stopped working. The shop said, “Just buy new ones.” I thought that was crazy. So, with my physics teacher, we opened a repair café in the school library. It’s every second Saturday, from ten to one.

Josh: How many people come?

Kiara: At first, maybe fifteen. Now it’s more like fifty every time! Last year, we repaired over four hundred objects.

Josh: That’s impressive. What’s the hardest part?

Kiara: Honestly, finding spare parts. Some companies don’t sell them, so we can’t repair everything.

Josh: To sum up, what would you tell our listeners?

Kiara: Before you throw something away, ask yourself: can it be fixed?
