Ces exercices conditionnel passé vous font réécrire l’histoire : construire l’hypothèse irréelle, la transformer avec l’inversion, puis jongler entre passé et présent dans les conditionnelles mixtes.

Repérez toujours d’abord l’époque de chaque moitié de la phrase.
Exercice 1 : Conjuguer les verbesMettez les verbes entre parenthèses au temps qui convient.
- If you (tell) ___ me, I (help) ___ you.
- If it (not / rain) ___, we (go) ___ to the beach.
- She (pass) ___ the exam if she (work) ___ harder.

- If they hadn’t sold the house, they would have regretted it.
Écrivez une phrase au conditionnel passé à partir de la situation réelle.
- I didn’t know you were ill, so I didn’t visit you.
- He drove too fast, so he had an accident.
- We didn’t book in advance, so we couldn’t get a table.
- She forgot her passport, so she missed the plane.
- They didn’t water the plants, so the plants died.
- You didn’t wear a helmet, so you got hurt.
Complétez avec would have, could have ou might have selon la nuance indiquée.
- If I had had a car, I ___ given you a lift. (capacité)
- If you had asked her, she ___ said yes. (peut-être)
- If the alarm had gone off, everyone ___ left the building. (certitude)
- If we had trained more, we ___ won the cup. (capacité)

Réécrivez les phrases en supprimant if et en utilisant l’inversion.
- If I had known, I would have called you.
- If they had knocked, I would have opened the door.
- If the government had acted earlier, the crisis would have been avoided.
- If she hadn’t warned us, we would have lost everything.
- If we had left at six, we would have arrived before dark.
- If he hadn’t been so careless, the accident wouldn’t have happened.
Mettez les verbes au temps qui convient. Attention à l’époque de chaque partie.

- If she (be) ___ more patient, she (not / give up) ___ last week.
- If we (not / miss) ___ the bus, we (be) ___ at home now.
- If he (speak) ___ Spanish, he (understand) ___ the guide yesterday.

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Réécrivez-la correctement.
- If I would have known, I would have come.

Traduisez en anglais.
- Si j’avais su, je ne serais pas venu.

- Reprenez la même idée avec l’inversion Had.

- Expliquez un fait passé par un trait de votre caractère (conditionnelle mixte inverse).
- Employez But for + nom.
