Exercice 1 : les familles de mots

Complète avec le mot de la même famille demandé.

Exercice 2 : les verbes de la création

Complète avec : breakthrough, came up with, device, failed, improve, patent, tested.

Exercice 3 : qui a inventé quoi ?

Associe chaque inventeur à son invention.

Exercice 4 : compréhension, la naissance du web

Lis le texte, puis dis si les affirmations sont vraies (True) ou fausses (False). Justifie avec le texte.

In 1989, a young British scientist called Tim Berners-Lee was working at CERN, a research centre near Geneva. Scientists there wanted to share information easily between their computers. Tim came up with an idea: a system of pages linked to each other. He called it the World Wide Web. In 1991, the first website went online. Tim decided not to patent his invention: he wanted the web to be free for everyone. Today, billions of people use it every day. In 2004, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, so now people call him “Sir Tim”.

Exercice 6 : les étapes d’une invention

Remets les étapes dans l’ordre logique (écris les lettres de 1 à 6).

Exercice 8 : traduis en français

Exercice 9 : corrige les erreurs

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Réécris-la correctement.

Écris invention ou discovery pour chaque élément.

Exercice 11 : imagine ton invention

Présente en six phrases une invention que tu aimerais créer.

  1. Son nom (My invention is called…).
  2. Ce que c’est (It is a…).
  3. À quoi elle sert (It is used to…).
  4. Pour qui (It is for…).
  5. Pourquoi elle est utile (It is useful because…).
  6. Comment tu pourrais l’améliorer plus tard (Later, I want to improve it by…).
