Dix exercices enough, intensité et antonymes

Exercice 1 : choisis l’adverbe

Choisis l’adverbe qui convient : quite, really, so, almost, completely. Utilise chaque mot une fois.

  1. It’s 11.58 pm. It’s ___ midnight.
  2. I’m ___ hungry! I could eat a horse!
  3. The film was ___ good, but not excellent.
  4. After the storm, the garden was ___ destroyed.
  5. I ___ love this song. Let’s listen to it again.
Exercice 2 : remets dans l’ordre

Remets les mots dans l’ordre pour former une phrase correcte.

  1. is / old / enough / she / to / drive
  2. have / we / enough / don’t / time
  3. warm / isn’t / enough / the / water
  4. money / enough / has / he / ?
  5. tall / enough / not / I’m / to / reach / the shelf
  6. chairs / are / enough / there / ?
Exercice 3 : too ou enough ?

Complète avec too ou enough.

  1. This box is ___ heavy. I can’t carry it.
  2. Are you strong ___ to lift it?
  3. The soup is ___ hot. Wait a minute!
  4. He isn’t fast ___ to win the race.
  5. My shoes are ___ small. I need new ones.
  6. We have ___ eggs to make a cake.
Exercice 4 : transforme avec not … enough

Réécris chaque phrase avec not … enough et l’antonyme donné entre parenthèses.

Exemple : The room is too small. (big) → The room isn’t big enough.

  1. The coffee is too cold. (hot)
  2. My brother is too young. (old)
  3. This rope is too short. (long)
  4. The music is too quiet. (loud)
  5. You are too slow. (fast)
Exercice 5 : associe les antonymes

Associe chaque mot à son contraire.

  1. quiet
  2. urban
  3. lonely
  4. generous
  5. tidy
  6. ancient

a. modern b. messy c. noisy d. mean e. rural f. popular

Exercice 6 : ajoute le bon préfixe

Forme le contraire avec un-, dis- ou im-.

  1. happy
  2. possible
  3. honest
  4. kind
  5. polite
  6. agree
  7. recognisable
  8. patient
Exercice 7 : complète avec le contraire

Complète chaque phrase avec le contraire du mot souligné.

  1. My bedroom is tidy, but my sister’s room is ___.
  2. Tom is brave, but his friend is ___ of the dark.
  3. In the morning the beach is empty, but in the afternoon it’s ___.
  4. I like carrots, but I ___ spinach.
  5. Lucy is popular at school, but Ben often feels ___.
  6. The castle is ancient, but the shopping centre is ___.
Exercice 8 : corrige les erreurs

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Recopie-la correctement.

  1. She is enough old to babysit.
  2. We haven’t got enough of bread.
  3. He is a so kind boy.
  4. This exercise is unpossible!
  5. I’m not enough tall to play basketball.
  6. The film was too much long.
Exercice 9 : lis et réponds

Lis le message puis réponds aux questions en anglais.

Hi Sam! I’m at summer camp in Wales. The place is really beautiful but completely rural: there’s no shop and the internet isn’t fast enough to watch videos. The lake is so cold that only Jake is brave enough to swim in it! The tents are quite big, but my sleeping bag isn’t warm enough. On the first night I felt a bit lonely, but now I’ve got lots of friends. I’m almost happy to stay one more week! Mia

  1. Is the camp in a town?
  2. Why can’t Mia watch videos?
  3. Who swims in the lake? Why?
  4. What is the problem with Mia’s sleeping bag?
  5. How did Mia feel on the first night?
  6. Find two adverbs of intensity in the text.
Exercice 10 : traduis en anglais

Traduis ces phrases.

  1. Je suis tellement fatigué !
  2. Il n’est pas assez grand pour monter dans ce manège.
  3. Avons-nous assez d’argent ?
  4. Ce garçon est malhonnête.
  5. Le musée était presque vide.
  6. Cette chanson est vraiment entraînante.
Exercice 11 : à toi d’écrire

Compare ta ville ou ton village avec un autre lieu que tu connais, en 5 ou 6 phrases. Utilise au moins deux paires d’antonymes, deux adverbes d’intensité et une phrase avec enough.
