Les exercices traditions culinaires

Exercice 1 : Le vocabulaire de la cuisine

Associe chaque mot anglais à sa traduction : a) une recette, b) un repas, c) une saveur, d) un plat préparé, e) une entrée, f) un cuisinier, g) une cuisinière (appareil), h) un ingrédient.

Exercice 2 : Quelle saveur ?

Complète avec sweet, salty, sour, bitter ou spicy.

  4. Black coffee without sugar is ___.
  5. This chilli is really ___! I need some water!
  6. Vinegar tastes ___.

Exercice 3 : Mettre la table

Observe le schéma et écris le nom anglais de chaque objet numéroté, avec a ou an.

Exercice 4 : Dish, plate, meal ou course ?

Choisis le bon mot.

  1. Breakfast is the first (meal / plate) of the day.
  2. Put the food on your (plate / course), please.
  3. Fish and chips is a famous British (dish / plate).
  4. For the main (course / meal), we’re having roast chicken.
  5. Shepherd’s pie is my favourite (dish / cooker).
  6. Can you wash the (plates / meals) after dinner?
Exercice 5 : Les verbes de la recette

Complète avec peel, cut, mix, pour, bake, add.

  1. ___ the potatoes with a knife to remove the skin.
  2. ___ the cake in the oven for thirty minutes.
  3. ___ the milk into the bowl slowly.
  4. ___ the tomatoes into small pieces.
  5. ___ the flour and the eggs with a spoon.
  6. ___ a pinch of salt and some pepper.
Exercice 6 : Remettre la recette dans l’ordre

Voici la recette d’une salade de fruits. Remets les étapes dans l’ordre logique (de 1 à 6).

  1. Finally, serve the fruit salad cold.
  2. First, wash the apples, the strawberries and the grapes.
  3. Then, peel the bananas and the oranges.
  4. After that, put all the fruit in a big bowl.
  5. Next, cut the fruit into small pieces.
  6. Add some orange juice and a little sugar, and mix.
Exercice 7 : Des plats et des traditions

Associe chaque plat à sa tradition : a) Thanksgiving, b) Burns Night in Scotland, c) a typical Sunday lunch, d) Pancake Day, e) afternoon tea, f) a big British breakfast.

Exercice 8 : Corriger les erreurs

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Corrige-la.

  3. Can you put the cutleries on the table?
  4. Lay the table, please: the forks and the knifes.
  5. This curry is very spice.
  6. Bake the cake in the cooker for thirty minutes. (dans le four)
Exercice 9 : Compréhension d’un texte

Every Sunday, my family has a traditional roast. My dad cooks the meat, usually roast beef or chicken, and my mum makes the Yorkshire puddings. They are soft inside and crunchy outside. My brother and I lay the table: plates, knives, forks, glasses and napkins. We eat roast potatoes, carrots and peas with lots of gravy, a brown sauce made with the juices of the meat. For dessert, my grandma brings an apple crumble. It’s sweet and a bit sour because of the apples. After the meal, everybody helps to clear the table. It’s my favourite meal of the week! — Oliver, 12, Manchester

Réponds en anglais ou par True / False avec justification.

Exercice 10 : Traduire en anglais

Traduis en anglais.

  1. Quels sont les ingrédients de cette recette ?
  2. Le citron est acide et le café est amer.
  3. Peux-tu mettre la table, s’il te plaît ?
  4. Le fish and chips est un plat typiquement britannique.
  5. Tu peux me passer le sel, s’il te plaît ?
  6. Ce curry est trop épicé pour moi.
Exercice 11 : Traduire en français

Traduis en français.

  1. Help yourself, there is plenty of food!
  2. The soup tastes bland: add some salt.
  3. Peel the apples and cut them into slices.
  4. We clear the table after every meal.
  5. Enjoy your meal!
Exercice 12 : Production guidée

Écris la recette de ton plat ou de ton dessert préféré en anglais.

  1. Donne le nom du plat et dis pourquoi tu l’aimes (sa saveur, sa texture).
  2. Fais la liste des ingrédients (Ingredients).
  3. Écris au moins quatre étapes à l’impératif (Method).
  4. Relie les étapes avec first, then, next, after that, finally.
  5. Termine par une formule pour servir le plat.
