Ces exercices transports et déplacements te font pratiquer le vocabulaire des moyens de transport, les prépositions by, on et in, la différence entre journey, trip et travel et les phrases pour demander ton chemin dans le métro. Fais-les dans l’ordre : la difficulté augmente peu à peu.

Les exercices transports et déplacements

Exercice 1 : Associer les mots

Associe chaque mot anglais à sa traduction française : a) un car, b) un quai, c) un embouteillage, d) un aller-retour, e) un arrêt de bus, f) le métro de Londres, g) un trajet, h) l’heure de pointe.

Exercice 2 : Anglais britannique ou américain

Donne le mot américain qui correspond au mot britannique.

  1. the underground → …
  2. a taxi → …
  3. a tram → …
  4. a railway station → …
  5. a single ticket → a one-way ticket ; a return ticket → …
Exercice 3 : By, on ou in ?

Complète avec by, on ou in.

  1. I usually go to school ___ bike.
  2. My grandmother never travels ___ plane.
  3. We went to the beach ___ foot.
  4. There were a lot of people ___ the bus this morning.
  5. The children are sitting ___ the car with their dad.
  6. They crossed the Channel ___ ferry.
  7. Tom left his bag ___ the train!
Exercice 4 : Journey, trip ou travel ?

Choisis le bon mot.

  1. Have a nice (trip / travel)!
  2. The (journey / travel) from Paris to London takes two hours and a half by train.
  3. I’d love to (trip / travel) around the world.
  4. Our class went on a (trip / journey) to the zoo last Friday.
  5. My dad’s (journey / trip) to work is very long: one hour every morning.
  6. Do you like (travelling / tripping) by coach?
Exercice 5 : Get on, get off, get in, get out of

Complète avec la bonne forme : get on, get off, get in, get out of.

  1. Hurry up! ___ the bus, the doors are closing!
  2. ___ the car, please, and fasten your seatbelt.
  3. We must ___ the train at the next station.
  4. The taxi stopped and a woman ___ the taxi. (au passé : got)
  5. Passengers can ___ the plane now: gate 12 is open.
  6. Excuse me, where do I ___ for the museum? — At the third stop.
Exercice 6 : Remettre les mots dans l’ordre

Remets les mots dans l’ordre pour former des phrases ou des questions.

  1. get / I / how / the station / do / to / ?
  2. take / long / does / it / how / ?
  3. bus / school / by / goes / she / to
  4. change / at / Green Park / you / must
  5. the / off / get / at / stop / next
  6. far / how / is / the airport / ?
Exercice 7 : Corriger les erreurs

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Recopie-la correctement.

  1. I go to school by the bus.
  2. We went to the park by foot.
  3. Have a good travel!
  4. In New York, I took the underground every day.
  5. She got on the car and drove away.
  6. How long it takes?
Exercice 8 : Lire un plan de métro

Observe le plan de métro, puis réponds aux questions en anglais par une phrase complète.

Exercice 9 : Comprendre un dialogue

Sam: Hi Mum! I’m at Brighton station, but I missed the 5 o’clock train.

Mum: Oh no! When is the next one?

Sam: At 5.40. The journey takes one hour, so I’ll be in London at 6.40.

Mum: OK. Take the underground at Victoria, then get off at Brixton. I’ll pick you up by car at the station.

Sam: Great! I’ve got a return ticket, so it’s fine.

Mum: Have a safe journey, darling!

Réponds en anglais ou par True / False en justifiant.

  1. Where is Sam?
  2. Sam caught the 5 o’clock train. True or false?
  3. How long does the journey to London take?
  4. At what time will Sam arrive in London?
  5. Which station must Sam get off at?
  6. How will Mum go to the station?
  7. Sam must buy a new ticket. True or false?
Exercice 10 : Traduire en anglais

Traduis ces phrases en anglais.

  1. Je vais au collège à pied.
  2. Mes cousins voyagent en car.
  3. Comment est-ce que je vais de la gare au musée ?
  4. Prends la ligne bleue et descends au deuxième arrêt.
  5. Le trajet prend vingt minutes en bus.
  6. Nous avons raté le train !
Exercice 11 : Traduire en français

Traduis ces phrases en français.

  1. There is a traffic jam because it’s rush hour.
  2. Mind the gap between the train and the platform.
  3. We went on a school trip to Edinburgh by coach.
  4. I’d like a single ticket to Oxford, please.
  5. The underground is the fastest way to travel in London.
Exercice 12 : Production guidée

Écris 5 à 6 phrases en anglais pour décrire ton trajet jusqu’au collège. Réponds à ces questions dans ton texte.

  1. How do you go to school?
  2. How long does the journey take?
  3. What time do you leave home?
  4. Do you take the bus, the tram or the car? Where do you get off?
  5. What is your favourite means of transport? Why?
