Exercice 1 : Both, either ou neither ?

Complète avec both, either ou neither.

  1. I’ve got two brothers and ___ of them play rugby.
  2. « Tea or coffee? » « ___ is fine, thanks. I don’t mind. »
  3. ___ of my parents can drive, so we always take the bus.
  4. There are shops on ___ side of the street.
  5. ___ Paul and Kevin were late this morning.
  6. I phoned Mia and Zoe but ___ of them answered.
  7. You can take ___ road: they both go to the beach.
  8. ___ teams played well, so the match was boring.
Exercice 2 : Each ou every ?

Complète avec each ou every. Parfois les deux sont possibles : choisis le plus naturel.

  1. I go to the gym ___ Saturday.
  2. The teacher gave ___ of us a worksheet.
  3. She had a bag in ___ hand.
  4. ___ house in the village was destroyed by the storm.
  5. The two players ___ scored a goal.
  6. We have a maths test ___ two weeks.
  7. ___ one of the cakes was delicious.
  8. The oranges cost 50p ___.
Exercice 3 : Singulier ou pluriel ?

Choisis la bonne forme du verbe.

  1. Every student (has / have) a locker.
  2. Both my sisters (is / are) older than me.
  3. Neither answer (is / are) correct.
  4. Each of the rooms (has / have) a TV.
  5. Everybody (likes / like) holidays.
  6. Both of them (was / were) at the concert.
  7. Either day (is / are) OK for me.
  8. Neither my dad nor my uncles (is / are) good at cooking.
Exercice 4 : Both… and, either… or, neither… nor

Relie les deux phrases avec both… and, either… or ou neither… nor.

  1. Jack is clever. Jack is funny.
  2. Amy doesn’t eat meat. Amy doesn’t eat fish.
  3. We can go to the cinema. Or we can go bowling.
  4. Sarah plays the guitar. Her brother plays the guitar too.
  5. Tom didn’t call. Lisa didn’t call.
  6. You can pay by card. Or you can pay in cash.
Exercice 5 : De not… either à neither

Réécris chaque phrase avec neither, sans changer le sens.

  1. I don’t like either of these jackets.
  2. She didn’t read either book.
  3. We didn’t invite either of them.
  4. They can’t speak either language.
  5. He doesn’t want either option.
  6. I didn’t understand either explanation.
Exercice 6 : Remets les mots dans l’ordre

Reconstitue les phrases.

  1. both / we / pizza / love
  2. are / both / they / tired / very
  3. of / neither / came / them / party / the / to
  4. a / each / got / prize / of / us
  5. every / text / she / me / evening / ten / minutes
  6. either / you / or / stay / can / leave
Exercice 7 : Moi aussi, moi non plus

Réagis comme indiqué avec So… I ou Neither… I.

  1. I love video games. (toi aussi)
  2. I can’t swim very well. (toi non plus)
  3. I didn’t watch the match. (toi non plus)
  4. I’ve been to London. (toi aussi)
  5. I’m not hungry. (toi non plus)
  6. I won’t go to school tomorrow. (toi non plus)
Exercice 8 : Traduction français → anglais

Traduis en anglais.

  1. Les deux garçons sont fans de basket.
  2. Aucun de mes amis n’a vu le film.
  3. Chaque élève a reçu un livre.
  4. Je fais du vélo tous les dimanches.
  5. Tu peux choisir l’un ou l’autre.
  6. Elle ne parle ni allemand ni russe.
  7. Nous sommes tous les deux en 3e.
  8. Il y a des arbres des deux côtés de la rue.
Exercice 9 : Traduction anglais → français

Traduis en français.

  1. Neither of the twins wanted to go first.
  2. Every other week, we visit our grandparents.
  3. The tickets were twenty pounds each.
  4. Both of us were surprised.
  5. I don’t know either of your cousins.
  6. Either you help me or I tell Mum.
Exercice 10 : Corrige les erreurs

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Recopie-la correctement.

  1. The both girls are in my class.
  2. Every of the students passed the test.
  3. Neither of my friends didn’t come.
  4. Each players has a shirt.
  5. Both of my parents works in a hospital.
  6. I go swimming all the days.
  7. No one of the two answers is right.
  8. He can’t cook and I can’t too.
Exercice 11 : Un document à exploiter

Observe le tableau des goûts de Sam et Lily, puis écris une phrase pour chaque ligne avec both, neither ou only one (either n’est pas utilisé ici).

Exercice 12 : Compréhension d’un texte

Jake and Josh are identical twins from Leeds. Both boys have red hair and green eyes, and every morning their mum checks their bags to know who is who: each twin carries a different backpack. Jake’s is blue and Josh’s is black. Neither of them likes being confused with the other. At school, they are in different classes, and each class has its own timetable. On Saturdays, they either play football in the park or go to the swimming pool. Neither boy enjoys shopping, but both love music: Jake plays the piano and Josh plays the drums.

Réponds en anglais par une phrase complète.

  1. What do both boys look like?
  2. How does their mum know who is who?
  3. What colour is each backpack?
  4. Do the twins like being confused? Use neither.
  5. What do they do on Saturdays?
  6. Which activity does neither boy enjoy?
Exercice 13 : Production guidée

Compare-toi avec un ami ou un membre de ta famille en 6 phrases. Utilise au moins une fois both, neither, either, each, every et neither… nor.
