Ces exercices phrases conditionnelles t’entraînent d’abord à reconnaître une condition réaliste et une hypothèse imaginaire, puis à conjuguer, à nuancer avec unless et as long as, et enfin à écrire tes propres hypothèses. Avant chaque phrase, demande-toi : est-ce possible, ou est-ce que j’imagine ?

Exercice 1 : Réel ou imaginaire ?Indique pour chaque phrase s’il s’agit d’une condition réaliste (R) ou d’une hypothèse imaginaire (I).
- If you study hard, you will pass your exams.
- If I were a bird, I would fly over the ocean.
- If we miss the bus, we will walk.
- If my dad won the lottery, he would buy a boat.
- If you don’t hurry, you’ll be late.
- If dinosaurs lived today, they would live in zoos.
- If it’s sunny tomorrow, we’ll have a picnic.
Conjugue les verbes entre parenthèses : présent simple dans la subordonnée en if, will + base verbale dans la principale.

Conjugue les verbes pour exprimer une hypothèse imaginaire.
- If I (have) ___ more money, I (travel) ___ around the world.
- If she (live) ___ in London, she (speak) ___ English every day.
- If we (not / have) ___ so much homework, we (go) ___ out more often.
- If I (be) ___ you, I (apologise) ___.
- He (be) ___ happier if he (play) ___ in the school team.

- If people (use) ___ bikes more, the air (be) ___ cleaner.
Choisis le bon mot selon que la condition est réaliste ou imaginaire.
- If I find your keys, I (will / would) bring them to you.
- If I were taller, I (will / would) play basketball.
- If you ask her nicely, she (will / would) help you.
- If cats could talk, they (will / would) complain all day.
- If the weather is nice on Sunday, we (will / would) go to the beach.
- If I knew the answer, I (will / would) tell you.
- If you press this button, the machine (will / would) start.
Réécris chaque phrase en remplaçant if… not par unless, sans changer le sens.
- If you don’t apologise, she won’t speak to you again.
- You will fail if you don’t revise.
- If it doesn’t rain, we’ll play outside.
- I won’t come if you don’t invite me.
- If he doesn’t train, he won’t win the race.
- The dog will bark if you don’t give it some food.
Complète avec if, unless ou as long as.
- You can borrow my laptop ___ you take care of it.
- We’ll go hiking tomorrow ___ it rains: in that case, we’ll stay at home.
- ___ you see Emma, say hello from me.
- You can stay up late ___ you don’t make any noise.
- ___ I were rich, I would build a house by the sea.
- The teacher won’t accept your essay ___ you hand it in on time.
- My parents will let me go to the party ___ I’m home by midnight.
Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Réécris-la correctement.
- If it will rain, we will stay inside.
- If I would have a dog, I would walk it every day.
- If I was you, I would wear a coat.
- Unless you don’t hurry, you’ll miss the bus.
- If she studies, she would pass.
- We would go to the cinema if we have time.
Reconstitue les phrases. Pense à la virgule quand la phrase commence par if.

Traduis ces phrases en anglais.
- S’il fait beau samedi, nous irons à la plage.
- Si j’étais toi, je ne dirais rien.
- Tu peux venir à condition que tu sois à l’heure.
- Je ne viendrai pas à moins que tu m’aides.
- Si nous avions une voiture, nous pourrions visiter l’Écosse.
- Que ferais-tu si tu perdais ton téléphone ?
Traduis ces phrases en français, en respectant les temps.
- If you need help, call me.
- If I lived by the sea, I would go surfing every weekend.
- Unless we leave now, we’ll miss the beginning of the film.
- You can use my bike as long as you bring it back tonight.
- If he were more patient, he would be a great teacher.
Lis le dialogue puis réponds aux questions.
Mr Brown: Listen, everyone. If we get enough money from the cake sale, we will go to Edinburgh in May.
Lily: And if we don’t get enough money?
Mr Brown: Then we’ll visit York instead. It’s closer and cheaper.
Sam: Can we visit the castle in Edinburgh?
Mr Brown: Yes, as long as you behave on the coach! And unless the weather is terrible, we’ll also climb Arthur’s Seat.

- Is Lily’s idea realistic? Which tenses show it?
- Relève une phrase construite avec if + présent, will et une autre avec if + prétérit, would.
Écris six phrases en anglais.
- Deux conditions réalistes sur ton prochain week-end (if + présent, will).
- Deux hypothèses imaginaires qui commencent par If I were… ou If I had…
- Une phrase avec unless.
- Une phrase avec as long as.
