Ces exercices voix passive te font passer de la formation au présent et au prétérit à tous les temps, puis au style des journaux. Pour chaque transformation, commence par repérer le temps de la phrase active : c’est lui qui décide de la forme de be.

Exercice 1 : Actif ou passif ?

Indique si chaque phrase est à la voix active (A) ou passive (P).

  1. The Beatles recorded this song in 1965.
  2. This song was recorded in 1965.
  3. Tea is grown in India.
  4. My grandmother grows tomatoes.
  5. The match has been cancelled.
  6. The referee has cancelled the match.
Exercice 2 : Présent simple passif

Complète avec is ou are + le participe passé du verbe.

  1. English (speak) ___ in many countries.
  2. These cars (make) ___ in Japan.
  3. The museum (visit) ___ by thousands of people every year.
  4. Breakfast (serve) ___ from 7 to 10.
  5. Mobile phones (not / allow) ___ in class.
  6. Cheddar (produce) ___ in England.
Exercice 3 : Prétérit passif

Complète avec was ou were + le participe passé.

  1. The Statue of Liberty (offer) ___ to the USA by France.
  2. The Harry Potter books (write) ___ by J. K. Rowling.
  3. The telephone (invent) ___ in 1876.
  4. Many houses (destroy) ___ by the storm.
  5. The thieves (catch) ___ two days later.
  6. Where (these photos / take) ___?
Exercice 4 : Identifie le temps

Donne le temps de chaque verbe passif (présent simple, be + -ing, prétérit, present perfect, past perfect, futur, modal).

  1. The road is being repaired.
  2. The results will be published tomorrow.
  3. The cake had been eaten before we arrived.
  4. The window has been broken.
  5. This form must be signed.
  6. The letters were sent last week.
Exercice 5 : Transforme au passif

Mets chaque phrase à la voix passive. Garde l’agent seulement s’il est utile.

  1. Someone has stolen my wallet.
  2. Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa.
  3. They are building a new school in our town.
  4. The council will plant 500 trees.
  5. People eat a lot of pasta in Italy.
  6. The police arrested the driver.
  7. You must keep this medicine in the fridge.
Exercice 6 : Formes négatives et interrogatives

Mets la phrase passive à la forme demandée.

  1. The film was made in Ireland. (interrogative)
  2. The parcel has been delivered. (négative)
  3. The rooms are cleaned every day. (interrogative)
  4. The concert will be cancelled. (négative)
  5. The book was translated into French. (question avec When)
  6. The building is being painted. (interrogative)
Exercice 7 : Corrige les erreurs

Chaque phrase contient une erreur. Recopie-la correctement.

  1. The castle built in the 12th century.
  2. This book was wrote by Roald Dahl.
  3. The guitar was played of Jimi Hendrix.
  4. The new bridge will opened next year.
  5. Two people have was injured.
  6. The windows are clean every Friday.
Exercice 8 : Les titres de presse

Réécris chaque titre de journal sous la forme d’une phrase complète au passif (temps indiqué).

  1. Missing cat found in washing machine (present perfect)
  2. Teenager rescued from river (prétérit)
  3. New library to be opened in May (be going to)
  4. Ancient coins discovered by farmer (present perfect)
  5. Main road closed after accident (present perfect)
Exercice 9 : Un article de presse

Lis l’article, relève les verbes au passif puis réponds aux questions en anglais.

Shipwreck discovered off the coast of Scotland

The wreck of an 18th-century ship has been discovered by divers near the Isle of Skye. The ship was built in 1752 and was used to carry wool to France. It sank during a storm in 1781. Several objects have already been brought to the surface, including plates, coins and a bell. They are being cleaned by experts in Edinburgh and they will be shown in a museum next year. The exact location of the wreck has not been revealed.

  1. Relève les sept verbes conjugués au passif.
  2. Who was the wreck discovered by?
  3. When was the ship built?
  4. What was it used for?
  5. What is happening to the objects now?
  6. Where will the objects be shown?
  7. Why do you think the location hasn’t been revealed?
Exercice 10 : Traduis « on » en anglais

Traduis en utilisant la voix passive.

  1. On parle espagnol au Mexique.
  2. On m’a volé mon vélo hier.
  3. On a construit ce pont en 1890.
  4. On va fermer la piscine cet été.
  5. On m’a offert une montre pour mon anniversaire.
  6. On n’a pas encore trouvé la solution.
Exercice 11 : Traduis en français

Traduis ces phrases de façon naturelle.

  1. The suspect is being questioned.
  2. Cameras are not allowed in the museum.
  3. She was told to wait outside.
  4. The game had been postponed because of the snow.
  5. Your order will be delivered within 48 hours.
Exercice 12 : Production guidée : à toi d’écrire l’article

Écris un court article (6 à 8 phrases) pour le journal de ton collège à partir de ces notes. Utilise au moins cinq passifs et un titre de presse sans auxiliaire.

  1. Saturday night: someone / break into / the school canteen
  2. the thieves / take / 200 chocolate bars and a coffee machine
  3. a neighbour / hear / a noise / call the police
  4. two teenagers / arrest / on Sunday morning
  5. the chocolate bars / not find / yet
