Voici le corrigé phrases conditionnelles des douze exercices. Pour chaque erreur, vérifie d’abord si tu avais bien identifié le type de condition : c’est presque toujours là que tout se joue.

Correction de l’exercice 1 : Réel ou imaginaire ?- R : if + présent, will.
- I : je ne suis pas un oiseau (were, would).
- R : rater le bus est tout à fait possible.
- I : gagner au loto est très improbable (won, would).
- R : ‘ll = will.
- I : les dinosaures ont disparu, la situation est fausse.
- R : ‘s = is, ‘ll = will.
- If you lend me your bike, I will give it back tomorrow.
- If it snows this weekend, we will go skiing. (n’oublie pas le -s de la 3e personne)

- will : find est au présent, la condition est réaliste.
- would : were indique une hypothèse imaginaire.
- will : ask est au présent.
- would : could talk, les chats ne parlent pas.
- will : is, le beau temps dimanche est possible.
- would : knew, je ne connais pas la réponse.
- will : press, conséquence réelle et certaine.
- Unless you apologise, she won’t speak to you again.
- You will fail unless you revise.
- Unless it rains, we’ll play outside.
- I won’t come unless you invite me.
- Unless he trains, he won’t win the race.

Dans chaque cas, la négation disparaît du verbe : unless la contient déjà.
- as long as : à condition que tu en prennes soin.
- unless : sauf s’il pleut.
- If : simple condition.
- as long as : du moment que tu ne fais pas de bruit.
- If : hypothèse imaginaire avec were.
- unless : sauf si tu le rends à temps.
- as long as : à condition que je sois rentré à minuit.
- If it rains, we will stay inside. (pas de will après if)
- If I had a dog, I would walk it every day. (pas de would après if)
- If I were you, I would wear a coat. (were attendu à l’écrit)
- Unless you hurry, you’ll miss the bus. (unless + verbe affirmatif)
- If she studies, she will pass. On accepte aussi If she studied, she would pass.
- We would go to the cinema if we had time. On accepte aussi We will go to the cinema if we have time.
- If it rains, we will stay at home.
- If I had a dog, I would call it Max.
- You’ll be late unless you leave now. (ou Unless you leave now, you’ll be late.)
- You can go out as long as you are back by ten.

- If you heat ice, it melts. (vérité générale : présent + présent)

Exemple de réponse modèle :

- I won’t go to the party unless my best friend comes too.

Comment progresser après ce corrigé
Si tu as confondu will et would, reprends le tableau « une même situation, deux regards » du cours et invente tes propres paires de phrases : une version réaliste, une version imaginaire. Pour unless, entraîne-toi à reformuler chaque phrase en if… not à voix haute. Enfin, relis tes productions écrites en traquant un seul défaut : un will ou un would caché juste après if.
